Russell Peters was born on 29 September 1970. He's of Anglo-Indian descent (something he frequently references in his comedy) though his parents moved to Ontario before he was born. Much of his act recounts his experiences of growing up as an Anglo-Indian in predominately Caucasian Canada though his material covers culture and class as well as race. He's a master of accents and mimicry and uses these to great effect in his shows. Also an actor, he starred in the Canadian sitcom Lord Have Mercy, and has a role in Duncan Jones' forthcoming film, Source Code.
