David Khari Webber Chappelle was born on 24 August 1973. He started stand up in Washington DC whilst studying Theatre Arts at college. After he graduated in 1991, he moved to New York to follow his dream of being a comic. He gigged, honing his style that focused on pop culture, politics and race. 2003 saw the inception of the Chappelle's Show on Comedy Central which became extremely successful. He's also appeared in a number of films -though notably turned down the role of Bubba in Forrest Gump.
